The indication of this technique is based on criteria related to the tumor (size <3cm and location), to the state of the non-tumoral liver (cirrhosis) and to the patient himself (age, general condition, other pathologies). It is an alternative to conventional hepatectomy surgery, which consists of destroying the tumor by heat by passing an electromagnetic current of 500 hz through an electrode.
